BNB Junior EDP Set To Begin

Basketball New Brunswick is very pleased to once again be offering the Junior Elite Development Program (EDP) commencing mid September in five regions across the province for athletes born in 2004 and 2005. As always, the program continues to update it's curriculum which aligns with Canada Basketball's Centre for Performance and New Brunswick's style of play designed to allow consistency through EDP, Bantam Elite Camp, and our Provincial Team programs. Each session will focus on developing individual skills within the offensive and defensive structure and concepts utilized by our summer provincial teams. The junior program is also a key identifier of potential provincial team athletes, and is an integral part of establishing our provincial player depth chart which monitors player's physical and skill development.

JUNIOR EDP will include five Regional Training Centres (RTC) around the province, and will be used as a key identifier for a provincial depth chart and the 2018 Bantam Elite Camp and U14 Provincial Teams. The goal of Jr EDP is to have all of our top players learning from an advanced skills-based curriculum to set the stage for future Provincial Team programs. BNB is looking for athletes who are dedicated and committed to improving their skills. To be considered for BNB Provincial Teams or Bantam Elite Camp, athletes are required to participate in EDP. There will be eight training sessions in the fall and six training sessions in the spring. Each round of training sessions will conclude with a centralized Competition Day.  The final spring Junior EDP competition day will serve as the identification session for Bantam Elite Camp.
Junior EDP for athletes in the North will begin on September 10th at Miramichi Valley High School from 1 PM until 4:30 PM. The remaining dates for fall sessions are listed below. Fall training will conclude with the competition day on Saturday October 14th in Saint John.  Coaches are welcome to come out to take part in or watch sessions.  For more information checkout  the BNB site.
