Max Aitken won the BNB Division 4 Middle School provincials.
Max Aitken won the BNB Division 4 Middle School provincials. The girls got off to a great start defeating Perth 36-30 in their first game. Game 2 was a classic with Nackawic as the game went into double overtime and at the end of the day Max Aitken came up just short 66 to 63. In the semi-final the girls faced Canterbury and came out with a 48-36 victory. This set up a rematch with Nackawic for the championship. This time there was no overtime and Max Aitken came out on top 49 to 40 to claim the title.
The Gretna Green middle school girls hosted the Division 2 provincials. The girls got off to a great start on day 1 defeating Evergreen from Moncton and Townsview from Woodstock. This set up a semi-final game with George Street from Fredericton. The girls came out hard but were not able to score enough to keep up with the eventual champs from Fredericton. The girls then faced a rematch with Evergreen for 3rd place. Gretna Green got off to a great start but Evergreen came roaring back to tie the game up in the 4th quarter. Gretna Green squeaked out a 1 point victory to claim bronze.
