BNB Announce Dates and Locations for Next Wave Development Program

Basketball New Brunswick (BNB) is excited to announce the return of its highly anticipated Next Wave Development Program for 2024. This program is designed to nurture young basketball talent across the province, providing a solid foundation in fundamental skills, movements, and concepts essential for future success in the sport.

Program Details and Cost

The Next Wave Development Program is open to all male and female basketball players born in 2013. The cost for participation is $60, which includes three hours of on-court instruction and a BNB T-shirt.

Who Can Register?

Any young basketball enthusiast born in 2013 is eligible to register for the program. The sessions are designed to cater to both boys and girls, ensuring an inclusive environment where all participants can thrive and develop their skills.

Dates and Locations

The 2024 sessions are scheduled to take place in three regions on September 28th:

• North East Region: École Mathieu-Martin

  • Girls Sessions: 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM & 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
  • Boys Sessions: 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM & 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM

• South Region: Hampton Middle School

  • Girls Sessions: 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM & 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
  • Boys Sessions: 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM & 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM

• Central Region

  Sept 21st @ Fredericton High School 

• Girls Sessions - 10:30am-12pm & 2-3:30pm
• Boys Sessions - 9-10:30am & 12:30-2pm
• Each group gets 2 - 90 minute sessions

Each group will receive two 90-minute sessions, providing ample time for skill development and practice1.

Coaching Clinics

In addition to the player development sessions, the Next Wave Weekends will also include Learn to Train (L2T) Coaching Clinics. These clinics are an excellent opportunity for local coaches to observe and learn the latest recommended content from BNB’s Coaches Curriculum in action. Coaches who are already L2T certified can participate or observe the on-court sessions by contacting BNB’s Director of Operations, Ryan Chase1.

Registration

Registration for the Next Wave Development Program opens on Thursday, September 5th. Interested participants and coaches are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spots.
