33rd Miramichi Hoop Classic Tips on Thursday at MVHS

Games will be held at both Miramichi Valley, James M. Hill and Dr. Losier Middle School with the tournament once again welcoming some of the top high school basketball programs. This year’s event will feature 16 teams — 8 girls’ teams and 8 boys’ teams — all competing for the 2025 Miramichi Hoop Classic banners.
Opening night tips off with a cross-river rivalry as JMH visits MVHS on Thursday evening. The girls will play at 6:00 PM, followed by the boys at 7:45 PM. Moncton High will be looking to defend the title on the boys’ side while Rothesay will look to take the title home for the second year in a row.
Teams attending:

• Girls Division: Miramichi Valley, James M. Hill, Fredericton High, Moncton High, Riverview, Rothesay, Mathieu-Martin, and Carleton North.
• Boys Division: Miramichi Valley, James M. Hill, Woodstock, Moncton High, Charlottetown Rural, Carleton North, Harvey, and Bathurst High.

Championship Saturday will take place at James M. Hill, with the girls’ final at 3:15 PM followed by the boys’ final at 5:00 PM. Tournament passes are on sale at the door (cash only) $10 for adults and $5 for students with children under the age of 12 admitted for free.
