The Bantam Elite ID sessions will happen on the Miramichi on Saturday April 14th.  The session for the boys will take place at MVHS from 10 AM until 1 PM.  The session for the ladies will go at Dr. Losier Middle from 9 AM until 12 PM.  There is more information below. Players can sign up on the Basketball NB site or at the door.

The Under 14 Development Program is a series of regional development clinics led by BNB high performance coaches experienced with the concepts and skills endorsed by the Canada Basketball Center for /de performance program. Each camp participant will be introduced to the basic skills that BNB has determined are necessary for players to reach their potential. These regional camps will also serve as player identification for the BNB Bantam Elite Program.

Who Should Attend?

The Under 14 Development program provides an opportunity for Basketball New Brunswick to expose coaches and athletes around the province to new concepts and techniques, specifically those being utilized in the Canada Basketball Centre For / de Performance. Clinics are open to players born in 1998, 1999 or 2000. Local coaches are also encouraged to observe the sessions and hopefully will discover new skills or concepts that can be incorporated into their team practices.

Clinic Overview

Approximately 10 clinics will be held (5 boys, 5 girls) throughout April/May. Session cost will be minimal, to help offset program expense. Parents are welcome to observe all sessions.
Due to facility availability some clinics may be run on Saturday afternoons or evenings throughout the week.

Player Identification for Bantam Elite

These sessions are also being used to identify athletes with the potential to advance to the BNB Bantam Elite Program. These clinics are a replacement for the traditional 'regional tryouts' for the BNB Bantam Elite program. Players demonstrating the potential, as determined by the coaches in attendance, will be selected to advance to the BNB Bantam Elite Jamboree to be held June 2 at the Nashwaaksis Field House in Fredericton. Succesful candidates will be notified by email once all clinics have been completed.
