Pulamoo Mini Boys Win Again!

The Mini Pulamoo Boys’ Basketball Team won gold this past weekend at the Fredericton YCBC Capitals February Frenzy Tournament

The Mini Pulamoo Boys’ Basketball Team won gold this past weekend at the Fredericton YCBC Capitals February Frenzy Tournament. The 8-team tournament saw the Pulamoo beat the East Saint John Thunder 48 – 30 in their opening game. Evan Valanne scored 20 points for the Pulamoo and was named Player of the Game. Dylan Dodge picked up the Hustler of the Game award. In their second game, the Pulamoo faced the host team and came away with the 53 – 19 victory. Player of the Game was Marcus Wilson who ended the game with back-to-back layups and Hustler of the Game was Thomas Hare. The third game in their division saw the Pulamoo against a team representing the New Maryland Basketball Association. The Pulamoo came away with the win, 49 – 35. Player of the Game was Gehrig Hale who was a force at both ends of the court while Zackie Loftman was named Hustler of the Game. The gold medal game saw the Pulamoo face the River Valley Rush. It was a close game during the first half but the Pulamoo were able to build a bit of the lead in the second half due to good team defense and went on to win the gold, 54 – 43. An energetic defensive effort won Player of the Game for Isaiah Loftman and Hustler of the Game went to Ryan MacMullin. Coaches Barry Amos and Mark Hare were very pleased with how the whole team played all weekend.
