The Miramichi Pulamoo U13 boys basketball team claimed the Basketball New Brunswick Tier 2 Provincial title this past weekend in Saint John.
The Pulamoo claimed the title by going 4 and 0 in the 6 team provincial tournament. The Pulamoo defeated Fredericton North in the final by a score of 56 to 28. The game was close after the first quarter with the Pulamoo holding a slight 9-8 advantage. They got things going their way with pressure defense in the second quarter opening up a 15 point lead. Fredericton North made a run however and cut the lead to 9 at the half. The Pulamoo got out to a fast start in the second half and never looked back, holding Fredericton North to 6 points in the second half. Kyron Amos was named plaer of the game. The Pulamoo defeated Fundy in the semi final by a 56 to 22 score, big Jack Bell was named player of the game. The Pulamoo finished first in their division by defeating Woodstorck 45-10 and Lancster 41-19. Benson Doak and Owen Amos were named players of the game. Kyron Amos was named the tournament MVP for the Pulamoo.
